Very strong high-tensile brass for high surface-pressure applications
CuZn25Al5Mn4Fe3 is also known as Ems 5775 — in international standards, the material appears under the designations JM18 and CC762S. The alloy is a very hard and strong high-tensile brass with poor resistance to dynamic loading and vibration and low elongation. It is suited to bearings with very high surface pressure but very low sliding speed, bridge bearings, slow-running worm-gear rims, spindles, and the internal parts of high-pressure valves.
