Economical brass for machine-shop components and pipework
CuZn33Pb2 is also known as Promet Ms 264 — in international standards the material appears under the designation CC750S. The alloy is an economical brass with one of the best electrical conductivities among the copper casting alloys. It is susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking and is not suited to sliding bearings or to parts exposed to the corrosive liquids of the paper and pulp industry. Typical applications include low-pressure pipe fittings and valves operating below 120 °C, machine-shop components where no special strength, corrosion resistance or sliding properties are required, and decorative parts.
